Work in process - ‘Hidden doors’ (work title)

‘Hidden doors’ is Theresa’s newest on going project.
What is presented in the showing above is a sequences of concepts from the first research for the coming performance under the work title 'Hidden doors'. The sequence is built of concepts, performed though freestyle and improvisation to a music mix unknown to the dancers.

Concept and Choreography Theresa tr3sa Gustavsson
Co-creative dancers: Fredrika Freddie Burval, Marcus Mackie Larsson, Theresa tr3sa Gustavsson.

In Theresa's new work ‘Hidden Doors' (working title) she wants to continue her work of creating opportunities for dance to be a portal, a way to communicate, create encounters and being a guide. This time exploring healing through sensibility, vulnerability and connection with the House club being the source of inspiration. During the first explorative residency the research was focused around sensory work and healing and common scenarios in the house club. As connecting with oneself and others, alone together and the healing of moving together as well as holding space for others to be seen and expressed.

In her latest work "Open doors" Theresa worked with the Cypher as the core (dancing in a circle), what it is, can be and gives opportunities to, then, within the context focusing on the style of Breaking. How the cypher can be an opening to the unknown, the warm, what is felt and touched. Now she wants to continue exploring how the essence of cypher/circle in House context can give space to the sensual, vulnerable and social need of raw dance connection.

In a time where loneliness, distance and fear of the unknown take more and more place, Theresa, together with the dancers Fredrika Freddie Burvall and Marcus Mackie Larsson, wants to highlight the vulnerable and encounters that touch.

The work is still in the beginning phase and are now looking for more residency opportunities and fundings.
